Bravo Gym — the app for one gym, not for everyone
Most fitness apps are built for nobody in particular. They ask who you are, guess a plan, and never learn anything else about you.
This one knows your trainer, your branch and your fee date. It is the members' app for The Bravo Gym — Health & Fitness Centre in Karachi, and it opens on what actually matters to you today.
Your logs are yours. Including from the gym.
Twelve things the gym cannot read
Your weight, body measurements, food and water, completed workouts, sets and reps, steps, sleep and personal reminders are locked to your own account — and not by leaving them off a screen. The database rules name twelve collections as owner-only and shut out administrators by name, which is the one place in the whole rule file where the gym's own staff are excluded on purpose.
What the gym does see is the membership: your name, the contact details you chose to add, fee and expiry dates, the days you checked in, the workout a trainer assigned you, and your quiz answers. That is what a gym needs to run a membership, and it is where the list stops.
Progress photos never leave the phone at all. Not to the gym, not to us, not to anybody. They sit in the app's private storage on your device, and if you uninstall the app they are gone. That is a decision rather than a limitation: progress photos are people in their underwear, and there is no server on which they belong.
Steps are not location. The app reads the low-power step-counter chip your phone already runs. It never asks for GPS and has no background location permission of any kind. Refuse the permission and you can type your steps in by hand instead.
What you actually open it for
318 exercises, 302 illustrated
Step-by-step instructions for every lift, with the muscles it works and the equipment it needs. Barbell, dumbbell, kettlebell, machine, bands and bodyweight.
The workout your trainer set
Push, pull, legs, first-week beginner plans and conditioning. A trainer assigns one to you and it appears on your home screen.
Your numbers, tracked
Weight, body measurements, steps and your training streak. Steps come from the phone's own step-counter chip — no GPS, no location, no battery drain.
Diet and water
Log meals and water against a daily calorie target worked out from your own height, weight, age and goal.
Fees and membership
How many days until the next fee is due, and when the membership runs out. No more asking at reception.
The weekly quiz
Three sixty-second windows a week — Monday noon, Wednesday evening, Saturday night. One question each, and a Bravo shirt for whoever answers fastest.
Check in at the gym
One tap when you arrive. Your attendance is on your record and on the gym's.
All four branches
Techno City, North Nazimabad, Shadman Town and North Karachi — addresses and directions, one tap to open in Maps.
The side members never see
Gym staff get an admin section on the same app. Nothing to install, nothing to log into on a desktop in the office.
The member list
Everyone, with fee status and membership dates at a glance.
Today's attendance
The register, live, as people check in.
Announcements
Written once, on every member's phone.
Opening hours
Edited on the phone, shown to members and to walk-ins.
The quiz editor and leaderboard
Questions, the three weekly windows, and the board that decides who won the shirt.
Trainer accounts are made by hand in the console, and no account can promote itself. A member
writing role: admin to their own record is refused by the server, not by the app.
There is no account to create
Open the app and you are in. No password, no email verification, no waiting for a link. You answer five short questions and only your name is required — skip the rest and nothing stops working except the parts that need the answer.
It works this way because the alternative is a sign-up form standing between a member and the gym they already pay for.
