Android & iPhone App

Privacy Policy

Chemverse — no accounts, no sign-in, and nothing about you ever reaches us. Everything below explains exactly what that means.

Summary

Thank you for using Chemverse (“the App”, identifier com.shahzebspeaks.chemverse on both Android and iOS), published by shahzeb speaks LLC (“we”, “us”).

The short version. Chemverse has no accounts and no sign-in. It does not ask who you are. Every element, formula, calculator, table and quiz question is stored inside the App and works with no internet connection at all. Your settings, bookmarks and study progress are saved only on your own phone, and we never receive them. The only information that leaves your device is handled by Google, to show adverts — and, only if you choose to buy Chemverse Pro, by Google Play or Apple’s App Store to take the payment.

Who We Are

Chemverse is published by shahzeb speaks LLC, 1500 N Grant St, Denver, CO 80203-1859, United States. For anything in this policy, write to admin@shahzebspeaks.com.

This policy covers the Chemverse mobile app only. It does not cover any other app or website, including sites reached through links in the App or in an advert.

What We Collect

Nothing. Chemverse has no servers. We operate no back end, no account system, no login, no newsletter and no analytics. There is no analytics, tracking, attribution or crash-reporting SDK in the App of any kind.

We do not receive your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, photos, files, or anything you type into the App.

Data on Your Device

Chemverse saves a small amount of information locally so it behaves the way you left it. This never leaves your phone and is never sent to us or to anyone else. This is the complete list:

What Why
Theme, text size, haptics, temperature unit, atomic-number display To keep your display preferences between sessions
Whether you have completed the intro screens So you are not shown them again
Whether Chemverse Pro is unlocked To hide adverts once you have purchased
Bookmarks The elements, formulas and pages you have saved
Recently viewed items To show them on the home screen
Study statistics — quiz scores, streaks, flashcard scheduling, and the quiz topics you answer correctly or incorrectly To track your own progress and schedule revision

Deleting it is entirely in your hands. Uninstalling Chemverse removes all of it. You can also clear it from Android Settings → Apps → Chemverse → Storage → Clear data. On an iPhone or iPad, deleting the app removes it. We cannot delete it for you, because we never had a copy.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

Chemverse shows adverts supplied by Google AdMob: a banner at the foot of the screen, adverts placed between entries in the longer reference lists, an occasional full-screen advert when you open a piece of content, and an advert when you come back to the App after some time away. To do that, the Google Mobile Ads SDK inside the App may collect and process:

  • Your device’s advertising identifier — the Android Advertising ID, or on iPhone and iPad the IDFA, and the IDFA only if you allow it (see below). Both are resettable
  • Your IP address, and an approximate location derived from it
  • Device and app information — model, operating system version, language, and the fact that the advert was shown in Chemverse
  • Your interactions with adverts, such as views and taps

This data is collected by Google, not by us. We never see it in a form that identifies you; we see only aggregate earnings reports.

Consent comes first. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Chemverse shows Google’s consent message the first time you open it, and no advert is requested until you have answered. You can change your answer at any time in the App: Settings → Privacy → Ad privacy choices.

On iPhone and iPad, Chemverse asks through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt before the IDFA can be used. If you choose “Ask App Not to Track”, adverts are still shown but are not personalised using that identifier, and every part of the App works exactly the same.

Payment — Google Play and the App Store

Chemverse Pro is a single one-time purchase that removes adverts. The payment is taken entirely by Google Play on Android, or by Apple’s App Store on iPhone and iPad. We never see, receive or store your card number, billing address or any other payment detail.

The store tells the App only whether the purchase succeeded, and that answer is stored on your device as the single flag described above. Purchases are handled under Google Payments’ terms and, on iPhone and iPad, under Apple’s Media Services terms.

Permissions the App Requests

Permission Why it is there
INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE Required by the advert and payment components. None of the App’s own content needs a connection.
AD_ID and related Ad Services permissions Added automatically by the Google Mobile Ads SDK so adverts can be served and measured.
com.android.vending.BILLING Required to offer the Chemverse Pro purchase through Google Play.

On iPhone and iPad, the only system prompt Chemverse ever shows is Apple’s tracking prompt described in the advertising section above.

Chemverse requests no permission for location, camera, microphone, contacts, files, photos or storage, and cannot access them.

Children’s Privacy

Chemverse is an educational reference tool intended for secondary-school, college and university students, and for adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through the App, contact us at admin@shahzebspeaks.com and we will act on it — though, as explained above, we hold no user data to begin with.

Your Choices About Advertising

  • Change your consent choice: in the App, Settings → Privacy → Ad privacy choices. The option appears wherever the consent message applies.
  • On iPhone and iPad: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking lets you allow or refuse tracking for Chemverse, or for every app at once.
  • Reset or delete your Advertising ID (Android): Android Settings → Privacy → Ads. Deleting it stops apps from receiving a personalised advertising identifier.
  • Opt out of personalised adverts: the same Android settings screen. You will still see adverts, but they will not be personalised.
  • Remove adverts entirely: buy Chemverse Pro. Once Pro is unlocked, no advert is requested at all.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or export personal data held about you, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent — under the EU/UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, and similar laws elsewhere.

In our case these rights are unusually simple to exercise: we hold no personal data about you at all, so there is nothing for us to disclose, correct, export or erase. We do not sell or share personal information, and we never have.

For data collected by Google through the advert SDK, exercise your rights directly with Google using the links above, or use the Android advertising controls. If you want to raise something with us regardless, write to admin@shahzebspeaks.com and we will reply within 30 days.

Data Retention & Security

Because we store nothing, we have no retention period to describe. The data listed above lives on your device for as long as the App is installed and is protected by the operating system’s app sandbox, which prevents other apps from reading it. Data handled by Google is retained under Google’s own policies.

International Users

Chemverse is published from the United States and is available worldwide. Since the App transmits no personal data to us, there is no international transfer of your data by us. Google may process advert and payment data in countries other than your own, under its own safeguards.

Changes to This Policy

If Chemverse ever begins collecting information itself, or adds a service that does, this policy will be updated before that version is released and the “last updated” date above will change. Material changes will also be noted in the App’s release notes in the store.
