Effective 16 October 2026 · Applies to the Lawlamp app, published by Shahzeb Speaks LLC
Lawlamp is a reference app for reading laws, constitutions and court structures, published by Shahzeb Speaks LLC (“we”). Every law in it is stored inside the app and can be read offline. Lawlamp is free and is paid for by advertising.
What we collect
We collect nothing ourselves. Lawlamp has no account, no sign-in, no analytics of our own and no crash-reporting service. We never see what you read or search.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The app shows ads served by Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC. When your phone is online, the Google Mobile Ads SDK in the app may collect and send to Google:
- device identifiers, such as the Android advertising ID and app set ID;
- your IP address, from which an approximate location can be worked out;
- information about the ads shown and your interactions with them;
- diagnostic data about how the ads performed (for example, load errors).
Google uses this to show ads, measure them and prevent fraud, and, where you allow it, to show personalised ads. How Google uses this data is explained at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. The SDK does not receive the laws you read or anything you type into search.
Your choices. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before any ad is requested, using Google's consent message; you can change your choice at any time from “Privacy options” in the app. Everywhere, you can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your phone's Settings → Google → Ads (or Settings → Privacy → Ads). With no internet connection, no ads are requested and nothing is sent.
What stays on your phone
To remember your preferences, the app saves these on your device only:
- the country and province you chose;
- the sections you bookmarked;
- the last few sections you opened (for “Continue reading”);
- your preferred reading depth (Short, Detail or Original).
This information never leaves your device and is not sent to us, to Google or to anyone else. Uninstalling the app deletes it.
Links to official sources
When you tap “Open official source”, the page opens in your browser. That website (for example Pakistan Code or legislation.gov.uk) has its own privacy policy; Lawlamp does not see what you do there.
What you search for
Searches, including anything you type about a problem you are facing, are processed on your device and are not stored or transmitted.
Children
Lawlamp is meant for adults (18+). It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Not legal advice, not a government app
Lawlamp is an independent app. It is not a government service and is not affiliated with any government or court. Its explanations are legal information, not legal advice.
Changes
If a future version changes what is collected, this page will say so before that version is released, and the app's store listing will be updated.
