Android App

Privacy Policy

Warranty Vault — your warranties, receipts and expiry dates never leave your phone. Here is exactly what the app does, and the one thing that does leave.

Summary

Thank you for using Warranty Vault ("the App"), developed by Muhammad Shahzeb Anwar ("we", "us").

Your warranty data never leaves your phone. Product details, prices, serial numbers, notes, expiry dates and every photo you add are stored only on your device. We have no server, we cannot see your data, and we never upload it.

The App does show advertising, and the ad network (Google AdMob) collects some technical device information in order to serve those ads. That is the only data that leaves your device, and none of it is your warranty data. The details are below.

What we never do

  • Ask you to create an account or sign in
  • Upload your receipts, photos or product details
  • Read your contacts, messages or files
  • Track your precise location
  • Sell or share your information with anyone

What the ad network sees

  • Your device's advertising ID
  • Device model, OS and app version
  • Approximate area from your IP address
  • Which ads were shown or tapped

What Stays on Your Device

Everything you enter into the App is stored locally on your device only, in the App's private storage:

  • Product names, brands, categories, prices, purchase dates and warranty lengths
  • Expiry dates for medicine, food, documents, insurance and subscriptions
  • Store names, serial and IMEI numbers, helpline numbers and notes
  • Every photo you add — receipts, warranty cards, serial plates, product packs
  • Your settings: theme, currency, reminder preferences and app lock

There is no account and no sign-in. Reminders are scheduled locally by your phone, not sent from a server. The App works fully offline.

Backup Files

You can export your vault to a .wvault backup file, and export any item or your whole vault as a PDF. These files are created on your device, and you choose where they go — you might save them, or send them to yourself.

We never receive these files. But anyone who has one can read everything inside it, including prices and serial numbers. Keep your backups somewhere private.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

The App displays advertisements supplied by Google AdMob. To serve and measure those ads, Google may collect and process:

  • Advertising ID — a resettable device identifier
  • Device and app information — device model, OS version, app version, country, language
  • Approximate location derived from your IP address
  • Ad interaction data — which ads were shown, viewed or tapped

Google receives none of your warranty data, receipts, photos, prices or serial numbers. The advertising SDK has no access to them.

This data is collected and processed by Google under its own policies:

You can reset or delete your Advertising ID, or opt out of ads personalisation, at Settings → Privacy → Ads on your Android phone. Choosing "Delete advertising ID" stops apps, including this one, from receiving it. On iPhone, an app can only use the advertising identifier if you allow it, under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Your choice in the EEA and UK

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the App shows Google's consent form the first time you open it, before any ad is requested, so you can choose how Google may use your data for ads. You can change that choice at any time in Settings → About → Privacy & ad choices inside the App.

Permissions the App Uses

Each one is requested only when it is actually needed, and used for one purpose:

Camera & Photos

Only when you choose to add a photo or scan a barcode. Photos are copied into the App's private storage on your device and are never uploaded.

Notifications

To remind you before a warranty or expiry date runs out, and when a service is due. Reminders are scheduled locally on your device.

Fingerprint / Face unlock

Only if you turn on App Lock. The App never sees your biometric data — your phone simply tells it whether the check passed.

Internet & Advertising ID

Used solely to load ads. No app data is transmitted over them.

Analytics

The App contains no analytics SDK. We collect no usage statistics of our own — we cannot see how many items you have added, which screens you open, or how often you use the App.

Deleting Your Data

  • Deleting an item inside the App permanently removes it and its photos from your device.
  • Uninstalling the App deletes everything it stored.
  • Because nothing is ever sent to us, there is nothing for us to delete on our side, and no data-deletion request to make.

Children's Privacy

The App is a household utility intended for general audiences. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to This Policy

If a future update changes how the App handles data, this page and the "Effective date" above will be updated before the change takes effect.
