Inventory and Reorder Manager

Stock control in a small shop is usually a spreadsheet that was accurate three weeks ago, plus somebody’s memory of what is running low.

This is one file that keeps the picture straight. Every stock line has a unit cost, a quantity, a supplier and a reorder point, and the dashboard lists what is at or below that level with the supplier name next to it, so the reorder list tells you who to ring rather than what to worry about.

It also shows the two numbers a spreadsheet almost never does. What is tied up: the total value of everything sitting on the shelf. And what has not moved in ninety days, which is the same money, immobilised, and invisible in any margin figure you look at.

Sales record the fee and the delivery cost as well as the price, so the margin column is what you actually kept rather than the difference between two numbers on a label.

It is not a till system, it does not scan barcodes and it does not talk to your card machine. It is the stock and margin picture, kept accurate, for the price of a fortnight of most subscriptions.

Everything lives in your browser on your device. Nothing is uploaded, which is why it works offline and why nobody else can see your figures — and it also means clearing your browsing data deletes it. The tool does not pretend otherwise: the header shows how long since your last export at all times, turns amber after three days and red after seven, and export is one click that produces a plain file you keep.
