Resin sellers borrow FDM pricing advice and it is wrong in three separate places. Resin costs several times what filament does, it fails more often, and it carries an ongoing consumable cost that FDM simply does not.
This prices what resin printing actually involves. The resin itself with a failure allowance that reflects reality rather than optimism. Machine time including the LCD screen, which is a consumable with a life of a few hundred hours and is almost never costed by anybody. Isopropyl alcohol, FEP film, gloves, filters and paper towel, which are the difference between the two technologies on paper. Supports and sanding, which on resin is hand labour on every single unit. And packaging that survives a courier, because a resin part is brittle and a breakage costs you the sale twice.
The marketplace cut is handled properly, which almost nothing else does. A fee is a share of the SELLING price, not of your cost. Adding 10% to a $1,000 cost gives $1,100, the platform takes $110, and you are left with $990 — you have paid the fee out of your own margin. Solved correctly the price is $1,111.11, the platform takes $111.11, and you keep exactly your cost. This does it the second way.
Underneath is the same costing as every tool in this range, and the same warnings: no overhead recovered, a wage used as a cost, markup and margin confused, or a margin so thin that one failed batch turns the week into a loss.
Two printouts, and they are deliberately different: a customer quote, and an internal costing that no customer should ever see.
