Vacation Pay Calculator: Canada, Every Province and Territory (2026)

How much vacation pay is required in Canada?

Usually 4% of wages with two weeks' vacation, rising to 6% and three weeks after five years in most places (eight years in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, fifteen in Newfoundland and Labrador). Saskatchewan gives three weeks from the first year at 3/52 (5.77%), and four weeks at 4/52 after ten years. Federal employees reach 8% and four weeks at ten years. PEI moved its increase to five years on 30 June 2026.

The percentage is the easy part. What changes the cheque is which wages count: Ontario includes overtime and termination pay, Alberta and Manitoba exclude overtime, Quebec includes tips.

Choose the jurisdiction, enter the start date and the year's wages; the calculator gives the time, the rate and the amount, and when the next increase comes.

What this will not tell you

This applies the statutory minimums to the figures you enter, by completed years of service at the date you choose. It does not track vacation years, carry-over or scheduling rules, or what your contract adds. A few details were not verified: Quebec's payout deadline, Nova Scotia's exact wording on when 6% starts, and later Nunavut amendments. Nothing you type leaves your browser.
